Dr. James Fernandez

Dr. James Reza Fernandez is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology and  Neuroradiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR).  Dr. Fernandez grew up in the territory of American Samoa, and left to earn his Bachelors of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), after which he earned his Medical Degree from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM).  

Before starting his Diagnostic Radiology fellowship, Dr. Fernandez completed a two-year National Institute of Health (NIH) NIBIB T32 Training Fellowship in Imaging Informatics at  the University of Southern California, as well as a General Surgery internship at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. While in residency at the University of Southern California for Diagnostic Radiology, he subsequently completed mini-fellowships in Breast Imaging and Thoracic Imaging.  Dr. Fernandez then completed a  fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Texas Southwestern.  

He currently holds licenses in several states, including Alabama, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, New York, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington.
